Information - Engine injector

The valve injector is considered the main actuator (executive actuator) in any injection system, because its primary objective is to spray fuel in tiny particles into the engine cylinders. Today motorists use mostly electromagnetic and electro mechanic fuel injectors.

By their destinations in the injection system, the nozzles can be working and launchers. Working nozzles can be divided in two types: valve nozzle for fuel injection with a subsequent distribution to the cylinders and central nozzle for single-point injection. Today experts develop working nozzles for fuel injection under high pressure directly into the cylinders of an internal combustion engine. It should be noted that the fuel injection nozzles are designed for each engine type individually, they are not unified, and it is most unlikely that you will find a standard part for two different vehicles.

So remember that the valve nozzle cannot be interchanged from one engine type to another. Almost all fuel injection nozzles are equipped inside the case with a fine mesh filter for fuel purification, which, in fact, causes malfunctions of the nozzle. Generally, a rehabilitation of the normal functioning of the nozzle with a dirty air filter is also possible. But it takes to wash all the injection systems with a special, multi-component solvent that is added to gasoline or motor fuel. After that the engine must be started at idling speed for about 30-40 minutes.

If you decide to remove the nozzles and wash them outside the engine by "soaking" them in acetone or by air blowing, you're just going to waste your time, because it is totally ineffective. It should also be noted that modern fuel injection nozzles cannot be dismantled, and its parts are not repairable. So if you need to replace the valve injector, we suggest you to visit our online store and order it at an advantageous price, as well as other products, like brake drums, power brakes or cogwheels.

What you need to know about engine fuel injector replacement: lifetime limits, common defects and their signs, tips and recommendations

There’s no specified service lifetime of the engine fuel injector. But it is recommended to perform diagnostics of this part every 100 000 – 150 000 operational kilometers. Lifetime limit of the engine fuel injector depends on quality of fuel used.

The most common defects which require component replacement are violation of seating tightness or jamming of the needle in the guide bushing, clogging of injector nozzle holes, cracks in the unit body.

Component defect is pointed by troubled engine start or lowering of its power, as well as increased smoke-formation from the exhaust pipe, increased fuel consumption and thrust reduction.

Check of the component is performed at a service station with the help of computerized diagnostics or a special adjustment stand. For engine fuel injectors replacement you should also apply to a service station because it is a fire-hazardous work. Before installation the fuel system is depressurized and engine fuel injectors are demounted.

As a rule at engine fuel injectors replacement new sleeves and sealing rings are installed. It is also recommended to replace the fuel filter and check condition of fuel-supplying pipes, throttle valve, fuel tank.
