The car engine is equipped with belt pulley and torque vibration damper. Belt pulleys can vary in their construction. The mounting openings of the absorber are meshed with the belt pulley. In older engines there were three elastic discs enclosed under the central bolt, today these discs are not applied, now the parts are fixed on the crankshaft by one bolt. There is a different situation when the pulley and the torque vibration dampers are separate devices. In this case, the pulley is bolted on the torque vibration damper.

If in case of inspection or replacement of the pulley you need to get to this part, it is not advisable to do it by yourself, it will be quite expensive, but still possible. You will need to remove the noise insulation underside of the car and other details of the car front to get to the belt pulley. Next, you need to reduce tension, and then remove the poly-V belt. To keep the crankshaft from turning, you need to include any position of the transmission and the parking brake. Another way to fix the crankshaft is to remove the starter and lock the flywheel ring gear (for manual transmission), or master drive (for automatic transmission). Then remove the crankshaft pulley together with the torque vibration damper.
