The fixed castors perform this function. They are necessary in order to correct the direction of the belt motion. These rollers do not rotate the belt or the chain. Their purpose is to push them aside, to press them tightly against the gear, as if to fix the item. An important factor in the excellent performance of the rollers is their compatibility in size and durability, as the belt rotates at high speed.

First, you need to unscrew the fixed castor (idle roller) bolt in the counter-clockwise direction. Remembered that the fixed castor bolt is quite long and, on the last turns of the thread, the roller props on the key that holds the belt tensioner. In order to completely unscrew it, just dispose the axle play of the roller. After that the item should be replaced with a new one.

The idler pulley of the timing belt is replaced together with the belt itself and the tensioner pulley every 80 000 – 120 000 kilometers of mileage. Premature replacement of the pulleys may be required at their jamming due to bearing wear, appearance of cracks on the surface.
