It analyzes how the vehicle responds to steering input and changing road conditions in order to distribute torque evenly between the axles if necessary.
• Adaptive suspension DCC. It allows setting the optimal car response to external factors that affect steering, acceleration and braking. It has three modes: Comfort, Normal, and Sport. In models like the 5-door liftback Volkswagen Arteon, any of them can be activated via touch screen.

Design features

The 5-door liftback Arteon, which entered mass production in 2017, embodies a new design concept of the brand. The group headed by designer Klaus Bischoff worked on the interior and exterior. A concept car, the Sport Coupé Concept GTE, was demonstrated at the Geneva International Motor Show in 2015. A bright feature of its exterior was frameless doors and headlights visually forming a single unit with the radiator grille. The manufacturer used an elongated body with a number of sculptured elements to underline the car’s sportive spirit.

Safety systems in Volkswagen models

The Trailer Assist system is available for the Passat B5 saloon and station wagon, as well as for the Tiguan II crossover. To set the trailer direction and travel angle, the driver needs only to shift to reverse and activate the Parking Assist.

Emergency Assist is offered as an option for many models of 2018. It turns on in case the driver shows no activity and doesn’t react to warnings, such as for obstacles on the road. Emergency Assist informs other road users about potential danger with the help of visual and acoustic signals and stops the car safely. The engineers that created the Emergency Assist earned the “German Mobility Award 2017” from the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure and the organization “Germany – Land of Ideas”.
