Information - Brake system
Brakes are an important component of the protective equipment in the car. The brakes reduce vehicle speed and promote fixing of its position. When the brake is used to control vehicle speed, kinetic energy is converted into thermal energy. Thus, brakes are subject to high mechanical loads. In order to ensure the normal function of braking, it is necessary regularly to replace the shoes as they quickly wear out.
In cars there are used two types of brakes: parking and service. The parking brake is required to fix the position of the vehicle when standing time. Hand brake is usually located right near the driver. The hand brake cable moves with the help of the brake lever. This causes a braking effect. Some cars have an alternative brake assembly – parking pedal brake. Moreover, there is also a brake that does not depend on the parking brake. Most cars have drum and disk brakes.
In order the brakes to operate trouble-free a dual circuit braking system is used. Hydraulic brakes are actuated by the master brake cylinder. We are talking about two-cavity master brake cylinder, which has two independent pressure chambers. Thus, the brakes operate even if one chamber is faulty. Brake system consist of many components such as brake booster, brake force regulator, brake drum, brake hose, brake shoes, brake disks, brake callipers and brake cylinder. ABS (ESP) sensor, which transmits important data for the ABS system, also makes a part of the braking system. Repair and maintenance of the brakes should be done only by experienced professionals. In addition, you should not use low-quality brake parts.
