Technical features of Renault vehicles

• TCe petrol engines. The Bore Spray Coating technology is the main feature of these 4-cylinder 1.3 L engines. It reduces friction and enables a more efficient heat exchange, which helps lower fuel consumption. The minivans Scénic and Grand Scénic of the fourth generation, in production since 2016, were the first to be outfitted with these motors. Design features

When designing its modern models, the manufacturer follows the concept created by the Dutch designer Laurens van den Acker in 2010. It is based on keeping the main stages of human life in mind, on research of car owners’ needs, and the aspiration to satisfy these needs. The exterior of the car is designed according to the “Passion for life” motto. For instance, the Zoe electric car is a compact city model combining elegance and a futuristic look. Its appearance is formed by smooth body lines, the headlights visually combined with the brand logo, and the rear lights resembling crystals.

The design of the Trezor concept car presented at the Paris Motor Show in 2016 was created based on the “French Design” and “Easy Life” philosophies. Unusual honeycomb-shaped air inlets are mounted on the bonnet. The fibre-optic rear lights provide an intense red light. The interior is modeled in a high-tech style but uses traditional materials: leather and wood. The steering wheel is rectangular and features touch-screens instead of traditional audio control buttons.

Safety systems in Renault models

Most cars of the make are produced using the SRP technology. In accordance with this technology, the rear seats and headrests are designed in a particular way so as to reduce the risk of neck injuries in road accidents to a minimum. The airbags prevent the driver or a passenger from sliding under the waist part of the seat belt in case of a frontal collision.

The Hands Free Parking system is available for the Renault Kadjar crossover produced since 2018. It helps to safely park the car even in conditions of limited space by precisely estimating the distance to obstacles. The AEB system warns the driver about the risk of collision with the vehicle ahead, and initiates braking if necessary. Warnings of exceeding the speed limits marked on the nearest traffic signs are displayed on the dashboard.
