TRW innovations
In 2007 the company presented a branded electronic stability control system, ESC-R, for hybrid vehicles, which is compatible with regenerative braking systems and complements the Slip Control Boost (SCB) system, which increases the anti-skid effect.
Electronically Powered Hydraulic Steering (EPHS) allows a hydraulic steering system to operate without an engine-driven pump, saving space and fuel. The assembly consists of a traditional rack and pinion mechanism, a pump with an electric motor, a control unit, and a tank with working fluid. This system requires no belts and pulleys and can be installed instead of a hydraulic or electric steering booster.
Lane Keeping Assist, developed by company’s specialists in 2008, keeps the vehicle in its lane automatically using a special camera that interacts with the electric steering booster. Trajectory adjustment is performed when the system detects crossing of the lane marking by the vehicle.
